Given the choice between shoes and handbags, I will always choose handbags. It only seemed fitting that I had a new bag for autumn, but this time I wanted a more grown up bag, something suitable for work.
My original plan was to save up and buy a designer bag but there wasn’t one that I particularly wanted (apart from an extremely expensive Prada) so I thought I’d get a high street one that I liked. I would regularly ‘accidentally’ stumble into Zara on the way to Oxford Circus at the end of the day, and on this particular night of shopping I found the perfect bag. I wasn’t actually looking for one and it all happened so fast, but isn’t that usually the way?
I paid £49.99 which is amazing for the size and quality. The link I have says it’s £59.99 but on the receipt I have it says £49.99. If you’re curious take a look here. Not sure what’s happened there because it’s the same bag!
I think it looks more than I paid anyway. I love the gold detail on the zips and hardware. I’ll admit it is pretty big and has been both blessing and curse for pushing people out of the way on the tube. Even without anything in it it can be quite heavy so it’s not for the weak. However, I needed something with a lot of compartments and this has just that. There’s plenty of space to fit lunch, make up, iPads etc.
I put my most valuable items in the pockets as the main part of the bag is a button fastening which usually couldn’t be used when I had all my stuff in it.
The colour is a fresh stone or you might say beige, but I don’t really like that word as it sounds so bland! It’s not real leather or anything as that would have cost a lot more, but I’m hoping the material is sturdy enough to endure every day wear. It comes with a long strap so you can sling it on your shoulder. I haven’t tried this yet but I think it will be very handy when it’s particularly heavy.
It’s fair to say I think it will be a while before I invest in another bag. How about you, are you a bag or a shoes person?
