Remember Remember That Day In November

For those of you who live outside the UK, yesterday was Bonfire Night in England. It’s usually celebrated with firework displays and keeping warm by the fire with delicious hot beverages and food. A simple Google search will tell you why the fifth of November is special;  I won’t bore you with a history lesson! Sadly I’d been working when any firework displays were happening near me, but I’d thought I’d share some of my day with you anyway as I was feeling in a particularly autumnal mood.

My breakfast was very autumnal. I’m not as into porridge as I used to be, but sometimes I really fancy a warming bowl of it. This time I added a few blueberries, cacao nibs, honey, and cinnamon which tasted delicious.

My morning was spent filming a video CV (don’t ask!), so I was pleasantly surprised when my ASOS order arrived. Unfortunately it will be going straight back. I ordered some over the knee boots because I love the look of them on other people, but as I suspected my legs really aren’t thin enough or long enough to pull them off. At least I got them out my system! ASOS returns are really simple too which is why I risked it in the first place.

After prancing around in my unflattering boots for a while, I got ready for work and chose an autumnal colour palette. I won’t be showing you a full length shot as I was having a very bad hair moment.

I am in LOVE with my new Topshop Joni Jeans in aubergine. I was going to get black but YOLO I went for burgandy. This means I can wear more black tops as I won’t be in head-to-toe black 😉 I’ve always been a big fan of these jeans because they are high-waisted and more comfortable than most jeans. They have a lot of stretch to them but still look like jeans and not treggings.

Now here’s a sneak preview of some products you’ll definitely be seeing on the blog over the next month or so. This was some birthday and Christmas shopping, so I don’t get to use them all yet! I can tell some of them are going to be winners.

I may have missed the fireworks but I wasn’t too concerned. I was a child who used to complain about being cold after five minutes of waiting for displays to start.

These beautifully lit trees were enough, and I spent a relaxing evening inside with some peppermint tea watching TOWIE and new Mindy Project.

How did you spend your bonfire night?
