BLUE SHIRT BRIGADE
Gone are the days where I would sacrifice comfort for an outfit that looks good. These days I’m all about combining style and comfort and one of my most worn items in my wardrobe right now is this H&M blue shirt. It’s lightweight, in one of my favourite colours and goes with everything. So I couldn’t resist asking my sister to kindly take some photos of this outfit one weekend. I think it looks very smart but it’s also super comfortable. My mum even asked me to pick her one up. It’s just one of those essentials – everyone needs a good shirt!
I paired my blue shirt with a pair of grey cropped frilled hem trousers from River Island which I also styled in this post back in April. Now that it’s starting to get a bit warmer in England (finally) I love wearing loose clothes like this. I’m not one to wear hotpants or strappy tops in summer. Partly because I burn in the sun and partly because it’s just not my style. I did customise the shirt slightly by tying it at the front, that’s about as risky as I get!
I can’t not mention this Zara quilted crossbody bag. I saw it online and knew I had to have it. It’s the perfect size and fits my huge iPhone 7 Plus in, as well as my purse and any other small things. The scarf detail really finishes the whole look. You won’t believe how affordable it is! I think the black fake leather contrasts nicely with the blue shirt.
Then on my feet I’m wearing some Zara espadrilles from last year – or maybe the year before – which have lasted me well. While they aren’t quite the Chanel ones, they do the job nicely!
Lastly, my sunglasses are from H&M and are the kind of size that makes me feel like I could go out without a scrap of make up on and no one would notice! They have a light grey-green tortoise shell printed frame which is gorgeous. I find sunglasses such a fun way to change up an outfit. My first ever lookbook video (eek!) is going live on Sunday so make sure you subscribe here to see what else I’ve been wearing recently!
