THE COOKIE DOUGH MONSTER
If you’ve been a long time reader of Ella Ryder then you’ll know I have a bit (read: a lot) of a sweet tooth. My sweet treat of choice being cookies. Even better than that is cookie dough. To be honest I’ve never been concerned about eating raw eggs in cookie dough and have licked the bowl when making cookies on frequent occasions. Check out some of my cookie recipes here. However when I heard that a new cookie dough parlour had popped up in London’s Old Street station, I think the angels sang for a moment.
Naked Dough was created by two professional foodies, Jen and Hannah, who realised the UK was missing out on the cookie dough craze of America. They wanted to create delicious, totally indulgent and safe-to-eat cookie dough treats for the public. Sound good? Don’t worry, I took one for the team and headed down to Naked Dough to get Naked. Cheeky.
…is just one of the fun flavours of dough you can choose from. I dragged a couple of friends with me to try the cookie dough and we met outside a pretty busy parlour. It was a Saturday lunchtime after all so it was to be expected. We didn’t have to wait very long in the queue though and it gave me time to suss out the flavours I was going to choose. Plus take photos of course!
So the flavours you can choose from are:
Emoji poos – chocolate chips. The classic option which I had a scoop of.
Unicorn food – sprinkles and marshmallows. My friends tried this flavour.
Nuttin’ better – peanut butter and peanut nibs. My literal dreammm. I had a scoop of this two. A must for any fellow peanut butter lovers.
Hazel’s nuts – nutella and Kinder Bueno. I kind of wish I had tried this too because it looked SO GOOD.
Mud bath – chocolate chips and chocolate (basically a double chocolate version of emoji poos)
Naked sheeran – salted caramel and honeycomb. Probably the least appealing to me but if you like honeycomb go for it!
You have the option to get the cookie dough in a tub, cone or shake. I chose the tub and am still very pleased with my decision.
We sat and enjoyed the cookie dough in the parlour. Have you ever seen someone look so pleased with themselves?! I ate about half and kept the rest as a dessert for later. It’s totally rich and a massive sugar overload but the flavour and texture was spot on.
It’s worth noting the cookie dough can be kept in the fridge for up to three days. If only I’d planned ahead and brought a bigger bag! A tub of this would make a lovely gift if you know any cookie monsters with a birthday coming up. Though to be honest, I don’t need an excuse for cookie dough. I used to work very close to this station so it’s probably just as well I don’t any more otherwise I can see where I’d be spending lunch breaks.
If you’re wondering where my jacket is from, it’s my new favourite River Island suede jacket which i featured in my ASOS haul video. You can buy it here too! It’s perfect for this in between weather we’re having.
If you’re ready to get Naked, check out their website here, their tasty looking Instagram (I’m their biggest fan) and head down to Old Street Station between 11 and 8 for some cookie dough lovin’. They aren’t open on Sundays though so beware. Let me know what flavours you would choose in the comments! I’m just sorry I didn’t think of the idea myself…
