LEIGHTON DENNY EXPERT NAILS
One of my favourite ways to relax is painting my nails. It gives me so much joy to look down at nicely painted nails at work. For example, today I’m writing this post in Le Pain Quotidien in Bicester Village with a matcha latte and freshly painted nails thanks to Leighton Denny. I think people should spend more time doing the things they enjoy in life and if that’s painting your nails then so be it!
I kindly received a package of goodies from Leighton Denny recently. It’s always been one of my favourite nail care brands and I spoke about the Renovate nail treatment I’d been using to help strengthen my nails in this video. I’ve since been trying more from the range so I wanted to cover my favourites as well as show you my favourite nude nail polishes. I’m very partial to a nude nail colour as I think it looks very clean and put together. It also looks less obvious when it chips…
I haven’t waved goodbye to professional gel manicures forever but I think it’s possible to do your own nails at home equally well. I wrote a whole post a while back on the topic which you can read here. The Leighton Denny products I’ve tried have definitely made it easier for me to get that polished finish so I want to share my favourites with you!
IT’S ALL IN THE PREPARATION
- Leighton Denny Bare It All Colour Correcting Base Coat – This is like a foundation for your nails. It smooths over the nail surface, adds a delicate neutral colour and cares for your nails. It’s enriched with Caffeine Extract to stimulate healthy nail growth. I like to think of it as coffee for my nails! I use this either on it’s own or as a base coat under another colour.
- Leighton Denny Hydra Flex Treatment Shield – The Hydra Flex range is made for nails which are stiff, dry, dull, flaky which mine had been showing signs of. This is a clear gloss treatment which helps to replenish vital moisture and nourishment. Since using this my nails have been growing much quicker and are less flaky when I remove my nail polish.
- Leighton Denny Crystal Nail File – What could be better than an everlasting nail file? If you are still using traditional emery boards please stop. They damage your nails and can lead to more breakage. I’ve been using crystal nail files for years and swear by them. Now I have two Leighton Denny ones, I can put one in my bag for those awful times when I’m out and break a nail. And you know those almond-shaped nails everyone is sporting at the moment? This is the kind of nail file you need to guarantee a smooth, even shape. No one wants jagged nails.
IT’S A MIRACLE
4.Leighton Denny Miracle Drops – This stuff is magic. It takes fast-drying top coats to a new level. Use the dropper to dispense a drop or two onto each nail after you’ve applied your topcoat and it speeds up the drying process miraculously. If like me can’t seem to resist doing things like get changed straight after painting your nails, this is for you!
My Leighton Denny picks
Now the essentials are covered, it’s time for my favourite part – the colour! More often than not I can be spotted wearing a white, nude or pink shade because of the reasons I listed above. Also they make me look more tanned. First world problems eh? I love the selection of Leighton Denny colours for a more high end option but I also enjoy using Maybelline’s Superstay, L’Oreal Ever Riche, Essie and Barry M on occasion. I’ve linked my favourite colours at the moment below. In these photos I’m wearing Essie’s Gel Couture Polish in ‘Spool Me Over’. It’s a gorgeous peach/nude shade which is obviously right up my street.
