THE ANTI-BLACK FRIDAY
I’ve been on a mission this year to avoid buying things for the sake of it and while I feel like I’ve come on leaps and bounds (I know I sound like a recovering alcoholic) it’s hard to avoid getting swept up in the Black Friday hysteria. With this is in mind, I thought I’d do a round up of the fashion and beauty items I would (and have) been purchasing, regardless of any extra savings. From All Beauty’s selection of perfumes to Warehouse’s selection of christmas gifts for women , I hope you find some Christmas shopping ideas here.
A quick disclaimer, I’m all for saving money on things you actually intended to buy anyway but there must be so much money wasted over these few days as people scramble to purchase things simply because they’re on offer. I’ve even spotted a few websites claiming their prices are Black Friday but the prices are exactly the same as they were before. Keep your wits about you guys!
1.River Island cable knit cardigan. I first fell in love with the slouchy style of this cardigan when I saw it on Frances’ Instagram feed. I also love how she styled it in this post. It was sold out in my size for a while but now it’s back in stock I definitely want to get it.
2. Warehouse black velvet LBD. I’ve always loved Warehouse’s selection of partywear and with my work Christmas party coming up, I’m looking for something velvet because I just feel like I need something velvet in my life.
3. Gymshark workout wear. I love buying new gym clothes as it gives me an extra boost of motivation for the gym. I was going to buy some for Christmas anyway so I took advantage of the 20% off pre-Black Friday sale they were doing.
4. Kiehl’s skincare. I’ve been using a new moisturiser by Kiehl’s which I’ll no doubt feature on here soon, so I’m treating myself to a couple of products from the range for Christmas. The calendula toner being one of them. My skin is loving the range so far!
5.Thierry Mugler Angel perfume. There’s a reason why everyone perfume is always included in Christmas gifts for women. A good perfume is such an indulgence, can be completely personal and evoke all sorts of memories. One of my favourites is Angel by Thierry Mugler and hopefully Santa will be buying me one this year. All Beauty is my favourite place to get discounted perfume from all the best brands.
6.Philip’s VisaPure mini cleansing brush. Christmas definitely came early when I was sent this cleansing brush to try. If you haven’t already guessed from point 4, I’m focusing a lot more on skincare than makeup this Christmas. More social events and late nights tends to mean that my cleansing routine can take a bit of a backseat. However this cleansing brush ensures that I remove every last trace of makeup. It’s a bit like upgrading from a manual toothbrush to an electric one. Once you’ve tried it you can’t go back. It’s the perfect Millenial Pink and is a great travel size so I have no excuse not to remove my makeup properly during the festive period.
Will you be adding any of these to your Christmas list? Have you been a bit too spendy because of Black Friday? Check out my other post on Christmas gifts for women here.
