Finding the one (or two)
I’ve partnered up with my local Banbury Gateway Shopping Park again to show you my favourite picks from this season’s trends. I’ve been after a decent midi dress for my autumn wardrobe for a while and I managed to find two in one day! Both are from River Island and are quite different in both colour and fit, so I thought I would show you how I plan on wearing both of them for different occasions. I picked up a few accessories two and I think they work nicely with both dresses but you’ll have to let me know what you think.
THE JUMPER DRESS
The first look is a cream jumper dress. I find there’s a fine line between looking like a sack of potatoes and effortlessly chic with jumper dresses. While I’m not saying I look like the latter, I think this cream midi dress is very forgiving, not to mention incredibly comfortable. I got a size XS so it’s not too oversized and you can still see my figure underneath.
Paired with some comfortable ankle boots, this dress is the perfect length to keep you warm enough to forgo the need for tights. To add to the cosiness of this look, I’ve added a Topshop faux fur clutch which I think goes nicely with the neutral tones. Read more about how I like to dress as ‘hygge’ as possible here.
The second dress I fell in love with is this burgundy bodycon dress. In a ribbed material, it’s definitely more fitted than the one above but the long sleeves and high neck still make it fairly modest. I’m a sucker for anything red/burgundy at the moment so this was a no-brainer for me. I particularly like the layered effect of the dress too.
I’d wear this dress to the office, again with my Topshop studded ankle boots. However I would also wear it if I was going out for drinks, with my new cream tassel drop earrings (I gave into the hype) and the faux fur clutch again. This clutch is great because you can choose to hide the chain strap so it’s almost like having two bags. If it was the evening I’d probably add a leather jacket too. I’ll go without tights but I’m not crazy enough to leave my coat at home.
