Once you have the awareness that you attract the circumstances in your life, it can be a bit daunting when things seemingly go ‘wrong’ or unwanted things happen to you. If you ever find yourself wondering to yourself ‘why have I created this?’ or ‘I must be doing it all wrong to have attracted that situation’ then I’m here to tell you that it’s completely normal to feel that way and you aren’t alone.
I think the main thing that should give you comfort is that something good comes out of every situation. Yes every single one. I know it might not seem that way when you’re going through a particularly traumatic experience yourself or someone close to you is but there’s always a bigger picture.
I’ve been thinking a lot about this recently, particularly after my puppy Teddy was killed in a hit and run accident. I saw how much pain it caused my family at his passing and initially I felt quite guilty that I’d brought him into our lives to only then have him taken from us so soon. I doubt many others would feel the same as I felt but me being me, I immediately thought ‘wow I’m doing this create your own reality thing totally wrong’.
Of course I’m not blaming myself for his death and by no means did I want for it to happen but there must have been something energetic going on between him and I for it to have manifested. Something beyond my limited human knowing. He obviously came into our lives for a reason and I believe his funny little soul taught us each different lessons. In this way I know that he is happy having done his ‘time’ here and is probably watching over us now eating some cheese.
As humans we like to think that we control everything and that we get to decide what happens to us and specify when. Although in reality I believe that our souls have their own life path and karmic journey that we are here in our physical bodies to carry out. It’s our job to be as fully present as possible and surrender to the flow of life. In this way we don’t resist the ebb and flow. There will be ups and downs for sure and that’s natural. The best thing you can do for yourself is to trust that you will always end up where you are supposed to be. Your highest self knows what will make you the happiest and you have to trust it by following your joy in the present.
I’m sure you’ve looked back on situations in your life so far and then seen how all the dots connected, when at the time maybe you felt like you weren’t making any progress. Often it’s only with that wonderful thing called hindsight that we realise how those 'bad’ things turned out to be ‘good’.
If you take anything from this post I’d like you to appreciate what is happening in the present moment as something that you can grow or learn from and not wait until five years into the future to do so. I’m not saying you have to be grateful when sad things happen, god knows I miss Teddy all the time and have done my fair share of crying over it. However, by taking the positive elements from any situation - there will be at least one trust me - and focusing all your attention on that, you’ll find life feels a lot more peaceful and you can move through negative emotions quicker. Life is supposed to be easy so relax and enjoy the unfolding!
