On my face this week #2

Happy Friday everyone! It might be raining right now but I've got a good seat on the train which makes me happy. This week has been quite busy at work and I'm really looking forward to a weekend of relaxation - apart from a bit of blogging of course! You seemed to enjoy my last 'what's on my face' style post, so I thought I'd do another one. When I know I want to write one of these posts it forces me to vary my make up a bit, otherwise I get stuck in the same habit of using the products over and over again. Today's edition is a complete make up look and is for when I have more time in the mornings. I'm never quite sure how this varies day-to-day because I get up at the same time each day but it does! Obviously I don't carry all of these in my handbag but I'm thinking of doing a 'what's in my work bag' type post too. If you'd be interested in that tweet me or leave a comment below and I'll get right to it. A few of these are new to my collection so I'll tell you which ones those are. I've been going for more complexion based products at the moment and then going very natural on the eyes and lips. If you want to see what I've used on my face today, check out my Instagram.

The collection

I start off with the Urban Decay Naked Concealer in Light Warm on any areas of redness or dark circles I have. The coverage is great and I use my Real Techniques Blending Sponge to blend it in for a natural, dewy finish. I then apply the Urban Decay Beached Bronzer in Sunkissed which is very natural-looking matte bronzer, adding much-needed warmth to my complexion. To highlight I like the Barry M Strobe Cream in Iced Bronze which is a stick so is really quick to use and isn't too shimmery so is easy to blend quickly. I just use this on my cheekbones and a tiny bit on my cupid's bow.

The Anastasia Pro Series Contour Kit in Light/Medium is my favourite contour palette due to the variety of colours. You can really customise the depth of colour and amount of highlight you want. My latest thing has been to apply a powder highlighter on top of a cream one to make it last longer. I saw someone on YouTube doing it and tried it myself and love it! For my natural eye look I've been using the lightest shades in my Urban Decay Naked Basics 2 Palette all over the lids, forgoing eyeliner and going in with a couple coats of the L'Oreal Paris Voluminous Mascara which is lengthening, thickening and curling. You really don't need to spend a lot on mascara to get a good one!

On the days my brows are looking a bit sparse, I apply fine strokes of the Anastasia Brow Definer in Soft Brown for a bit of definition and to frame my face. Finally, I've been loving the Maybelline Superstay Bold Matte 24hr Lip Colour in In the Nude which was a random purchase but it's actually the nearest colour I've find to my natural lip colour. It's not too dark like a lot of 'nude' lipsticks I've tried and it really is long-lasting. I can apply this in the morning (usually around 7am) and the colour will still be there around lunchtime which I think is really good. It's double-sided, one is the liquid lipstick and the other the balm which locks the colour in place which is perfect for me because you know I can't survive without a lip balm on me at all times!

If I've followed this entire routine it normally takes between 10 and 15 minutes which I don't think is too bad.  I hope you've found this interesting and let me know what's made it into your make up bag this week. Follow me on Bloglovin' or Twitter to get notified when I have a new blog post up. Have a great day!
