I'll always be a nude lip girl at heart but there's just something about the autumn that makes me want to experiment with a darker lip. Something a bit warmer that helps perk up my complexion without being too much maintenance. After being on roaccutane my lips get dry so easily which means I can't really wear matte lipsticks without some kind of balm - unless I'm able to touch it up constantly during the day which I don't have time for!
Forever on a quest for my perfect nude lip shade, when I spotted the L'Oreal Color Riche Palette in Nude at the stand in Boots, I couldn't resist adding it to my basket. I'm a huge fan of L'Oreal make up at the moment, they're really killing it in terms of quality and innovative products. For just £12.99 you get six shades which range from a deep wine shade to a nude pink.
It can be pretty hard to choose which one to use!
The palest shade is usually my first choice, naturally. However the formulas are so creamy and blendable you can mix and match them all which is what I love the most about it. The handy mirror in the sleek compact also means you can touch up on the go and change your lipstick to match the occasion!
I usually use my fingers because it gives the most natural finish but you can use a brush if you prefer (it does come with a mini one). If I'm going my subtle with my eye make up, I'll dabble with a couple of the darker shades but it's ok because they still come under the 'nude' colour spectrum.
So if you have a Christmas party coming up, or are trying to disguise a 'my hair needs a wash so I'll put it in this chic updo' sort of time, a darker nude lip might be just what you need. The Color Riche Lip Palette also comes in a Rouge version for the more daring amongst you.
Have you ever seen someone look so happy with a lip palette?! Have you tried this?
